Let P(B) be the probability of students passing in Hindi. ∴P(B)= 4 5 Let P(A ∩ B) be the probability of students passing in both English and Hindi. ∴P(A∩B)= 1 2 Tip – By conditional probability, P(A/B) = P(A∩B) P(B) where P(A/B) is the probability of occurrence of the event A given that B has already occurred.
