Power BI: Query parameters in an embed request

Does anyone know of a way in Power BI to set query parameters as described here from an embed request instead of inside desktop? We are attempting to set up a system where we use power bi to power visualizations within our app for customers to view their data. We need to use some sort of parameter system to ensure that the query returns the proper customer data for the visualization. Select the correct answer from above options

We can use Row Level Security for this job. Let's say that we already have information about our customers in our fact table. We can create a role in Power BI Desktop that would filter data for a specific user using USERNAME() DAX formula. While pushing our pbix into Power BI service, we can associate roles with users.
