Static RAM or SRAM is static as memory does not have to be refreshed as in Dynamic RAM or DRAM. It has also been seen that using SRAM as compared to using DRAM. Also it is difficult to install SRAM in the CPU. DRAM requires constant electrical supply to function properly where as the SRAM can function independently.
